In this method, irrigation water is applied to the land in the form of spray nozzle. Water is spread by employing the network of main pipe
submain pipe and lateral pipes. Lateral pipes may be perforated at the top and sides or it may contain seas of nozzles through which water comes out as a fountain and irrigate the lands. Nowadays we are using mainly rotating sprinklers as shown in the figure.

Disadvantage of sprinkler irrigation method:

Continuous supply of power is required.
Corner of land remain unirrigated.
Under high wind conditions and high temperature, application efficiency becomes poor.
High saline water at higher temperature causes leaf burning.
